Micromax Bolt A40 Budget Android Phone with 4.5-inch Display – Specifications & Details



Micromax has listed a new budget Android device on its website, with the Micromax Bolt A40 coming into the scene, with the design that looks like have taken inspiration from the Samsung Android devices, and it has got a 4.5 inch capacitive touchscreen, which is a TFT one with the display having a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. It’s quite a low end device, as suggested by the various specifications, and there is no pricing information available though, but Micromax is expected to launch the device for sale very soon.
The Bolt A40 is internally powered by the 1GHz Spreadtrum SC6820 processor and 512MB of RAM. One of the features that the users might not be impressed with, is the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS which is quite an old one now, with the ICS and Jelly Bean versions already up, and Google recently even announced the new Android 4.4 KitKat version.


The device has got a 2-megapixel rear camera with the LED flash, and on the front there is a 0.3 megapixel camera good enough for the video chat. There is an internal storage of 512MB which can be expanded externally to 32GB with the MicroSD card support. Connectivity wise, the Bolt A40 is a Dual-SIM device like most of the other devices from the company, and the maximum data network connectivity supported by both the SIM cards is EDGE and it would be the GSM networks they would work on. There’s a 1500 mAh battery included in the device, which should provide as long as 175 hours of standby time and 4.5 hours of talktime.
The other connectivity options included in the device are Bluetooth 2.1, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi and USB 2.0. There’s no 3G network support though. The Pre-loaded apps on the Micromax Bolt A40 include EYE Room, M!Live, 3in1 Bubbles, Opera Mini , Hike and Spuul. Micromax has been doing some launches in the recent time and the main part of it was the Micromax Canvas Fun series, which included the Canvas Fun A74 and the Canvas Fun A76, both of which have got medium range specs and a mid-range pricing, around Rs. 7000-8500 but the Bolt A40 is expected to be in the range of Rs. 5000 in the market when it is launched.
