Archos GamePad 2 Gaming Android Tablet with Quad-Core Processor Announced – Specs, Pricing

 

Back in December last year, the french manufacturer Archos had launched the Archos GamePad which was a decent handheld Android device for the gamers. The same company has now come up with its successor, the new Archos GamePad 2 which packs in, some excellent stuff which includes an HD screen and an advanced processor. There are quite a few upgrades to the different aspects of the device, and the GamePad 2 runs the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. Archos announced that this new Gamepad would be available around the end of the month of October and would retail at a price of €179.99 in Europe, the price which equals to $245 in U.S.

The GamePad 2 from Archos comes with the HD 7-inch display which has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and it’s an IPS display which is expected to provide a good color output to provide a good gaming experience.

With our GamePad 2 we have included an HD screen, better controls, a larger battery and a faster processor,” said Loic Poirier ARCHOS CEO, “We’re excited to be working with a leading games company like Gameloft to pre-install two visually stunning titles for an amazing gaming experience.”

The GamePad 2 comes with Asphalt 8: Airborne and Mortal Kombat 4: Zero Hour, the full versions of the game and these two are the action-packed games from Gameloft. Talking about the other specs included in the device, it’s the Cortex A9 processor with 4 cores clocking at 1.6 GHz speed, with the support by 2GB of RAM. The gaming device comes in 8GB and 16GB versions, and one can expand the storage with 64GB MicroSD cards. Having the Android OS is one of the major advantages of the GamePad 2, as one can easily access the Play Store and download from over a million apps and take advantage of this uniquely designed device.
The physical features include the incurved dual thumb-sticks, double buttons on each shoulder, a single part directional pad and a button-click feel for a better gaming experience.
