HTC planned to update the Sprint-branded HTC EVO 4G to Android 4.3 in mid February, which is still running on Android 4.1 after it was scheduled to get this update back in October 2013 Mazkenzie tweeted that an update to Android 4.3 and Sense 5 for the HTC EVO 4G LTE before the end of the year.
In response to a tweet by a owner of a Evo 4G, HTC’s Jason Mackenzie confirmed that it would enter testing at Sprint in the middle of January and the update will roll out some way in middle of February 2014. The reason for the delay was not given but however he mentions that there was an unspecified issue that came up resulting in the delay for the update of the Android 4.3 to the HTC EVO 4G.
The EVO 4G LTE is the CDMA edition of the One X which has already received its Android 4.3 update along with the Sense 5 back in October 2013. Anyhow this update will be the last update for HTC EVO 4G LTE because it will reach its EOL (End of Life) after this.
Well this will be a good news for the EVO 4G LTE owners who lost their hopes as it has been long time that it has received its last update. There are many devices that have to receive their Android 4.3 update and there are bunch of devices that will be getting their update in the early 2014.
Once the update starts rolling out, get you device connected to the Wi-Fi and go to Setting > About phone > System updates > Download. But we are not sure yet how the update will be but expect it to be Over the Air (OTA). Stay with us for more information and latest updates and guides for your Smart Phone.
