The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo is one of the recent Android smartphones heard about, although the company hasn’t officially detailed about it or given any launch details of the device. The 5-inch Android device comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen and it’s once again a WVGA display with the 480 x 800 pixels of screen resolution. These are just the leaked specifications from Sammy HUb, and thus we couldn’t find the entire specs list.
Internally, the Galaxy Grand Neo is going to be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor and the OS that the device would be running, is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS along with the TouchWiz UI which Samsung uses in most of its Android smartphones. The smartphone would have the special Samsung based software features such as the Multi Window etc.
We cannot be sure already whether the Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite, which recently passed the FCC, is the actual Grand Neo device, but the specifications suggest them to be the same because there is no much difference in them. It was the model number GT-I9060 given for the Grand Lite, but there is no model number mentioned for the Grand Neo yet.
Just like we saw the Faux leather smooth back on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and then on the Galaxy Grand 2, we could be seeing something similar on the back panel of the Grand Neo, but that again is not a confirmed news. The only information we can vouch for, is that the Galaxy Grand Neo would be a lot cheaper than the Galaxy Grand 2, which was recently launched with a very good list of specs.
We might not be surprised if Samsung announces this smartphone at the CES 2014, which is going to happen in a few days from now. Or Samsung might want to wait and make it even bigger with a flurry of devices being unveiled together at the MWC 2014. Let us see where this is headed to.
