Google Nexus 5 Camera Samples – Outdoor, Low-light & Macro Captures

The Google Nexus 5, a very neat device which was made again by LG came in with some excellent specifications, but the camera did not come with real good improvements. It’s still the same 8-megapixel shooter on the rear side but there is Optical Image Stabilization, which does a neat job of capturing especially when you have a little shaky hands and want the camera to do the job of making the photo stable.

We did a few tests of the camera with the outdoor, indoor, background defocusing and the macro type of captures, but there are no different loads of capturing modes and effects that we see in several other smartphone cameras. There are just a few but you should be a fine enough for the normal capturing. The picture sizes that are possible for capturing include – 8MP, 5MP, 3MP, 2MP, 1.3MP, 1MP, VGA and QVGA.
Apart from this, we get to see exposure options, white balance options including Incandescent, Fluorescent, Day Light, Cloudy and Auto. The scene modes include Action, Night, Party, Sunset, Party and None. The Panorama Capture can be done as the normal wide panorama or the Photosphere where the 360-degree capturing is possible to try out something new, and this was something available in the LG G2 too.
HDR+ capture is excellent, and it takes a few shots at the same time and then merge them to make one. It won’t work when you are partying and trying to take a few clicks in quick succession, as the HDR+ would need at least a couple seconds before the photo you captured is processed. But for a single photo, the quality for sure is a lot better than the normal capture.
