Kurio Safest SmartPhone for Kids with 4-inch Display, Android 4.2 – Specs, Details

Kurio introduced a new Smart Phone that is designed for kids. Earlier the company hinted about this Android tablet for kid’s way back in 2012 and now Kurio calls it as the safest smart phone for kids. This new Smart phone will allow the parents to control the way it should be used with all the necessary notifications.
This Smart Phone is designed in a way that the parents can control the number of minutes their child uses to make a phone call and also block the number of text messages sent. Parents can also block certain contacts from adding in to the phone and can set up five names on the contact list as primary contacts that cannot be removed by the child.
The GPS on the Smart Phone reports back the location of the child to their parents every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, a geo fence can also be set up that will send an alert to the parents when the child leaves or enters a certain restricted area.
Kids want cell phones, but with access to this technology comes great responsibility. Kurio Phone includes additional parental controls to address safety concerns that come along with giving a child a mobile device, but they also promote the child’s independence and help foster an open parent-child dialogue. In fact, on the smartphone, the child will be able to monitor his or her own phone usage and see the parameters that mom and dad have set. -Pieter van den Bosch, strategic director, KD Group
If this Smart Phone is lost or stolen, we can wipe it remotely and a message can be displayed on the screen of the device. The camera on front can be set to snap a picture when the phone is started. The parents will be notified when the SIM card on the device is changed or when the child turns his phone on or off.
The Kurio Phone has a 4 inch WVGA (480 x 800) resolution display, and powered by a multi-core processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. This Smart Phone comes with 4 GB on board memory that can be extended up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. Coming out of the box, pre-installed with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean offers 3G connectivity.
There is no official world on the pricing yet but company said that it would be coming to the market sometime in Spring. Earlier to this, Kurio had launched even a tablet device for the Kids, with the Kurio Kids Android tablet for a price of $199.
