Micromax has silently made the Micromax Canvas HD A116i Android smartphone and although it isn’t already available everywhere, this show how actively Micromax is working to bring out newer devices every few days in the market, in every price range. The A116i model doesn’t look really different from the predecessor, the Canvas HD A116, but the pricing does come with a difference, as the market having a lot of competitors has forced Micromax to launch the Canvas HD A116i for the price in the range of Rs. 13000 to Rs. 14000, and some can find it available for even the price of around Rs. 12000.
One of the noticeable changes in the specs list is the Android OS version, as the A116 was available with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, but the new one comes with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but Micromax surely wanted to update the list of phones with a new one, because otherwise they could just ship the A116 models with the Android 4.2 out-of-the-box. The internal powering provided in the Canvas HD A116i is by MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, and along with that, there is PowerVR SGX 544 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
It’s a 5-inch HD display with the screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, and the pixel density of 294PPI. On the rear side, there is a 8-megapixel camera with the LED flash and Autofocus, and capable of recording 720p videos, and the front side has a 2-megapixel camera which assists in video chatting and VGA video recording. There is an internal storage of 4GB included (of which the user available storage is 1.77GB) and the phone has a MicroSD card slot which can support the storage expansion to a maximum of 32GB. The A116i supports 3G connectivity with the other options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc.
