Samsung to send Update to Galaxy Note 3 to fix Accessory Compatibility Issue after 4.4 Update

Few weeks earlier the Android 4.4 KitKat update was rolled out for the Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 model and several early receivers of this update or the Galaxy Note 3 discovered that the third party accessories like the smart cover were not working after they got their device updated to the latest OS. Samsung then said that they aren’t responsible for this, and we had other view on that, and now Samsung has finally explained the issue.

Samsung claimed that there was no correlation between the non function of their covers and the Android 4.4 update. Many Galaxy Note 3 owners reported on social media forums that their device have been receiving the update but it disabled some unofficial accessories, like the third party S-View cases that trigger a  special screen mode when closed were not recognized b the Note 3. The company also suggested the users to buy official Samsung accessories.

Now the company set a new statement to Ars Technica saying that- We have currently identified a software compatibility issue with the Galaxy Note 3 update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) and select 3rd party accessories. A software update will be available shortly. We are committed to offering a diverse and reliable mobile experience for all customers, providing continued support and solutions for any issues that arise with product updates for both Samsung manufactured and third-party accessories.
Samsung says that the update rolled out to the Note 3 did break some third party accessories and it also stated that an update is on the way to fix the problem and the models that have not yet updated should receive builds with the fix to it already implemented without facing this problem. We are pretty much happy that Samsung has officially admitted its mistake about the feature.
Moreover the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is having solid sales worldwide, with 10 million units soled in just two months of its launch in to the market. Are you satisfied with Samsung’s acknowledging and accepting the problem and fixing the update? Let us know and make sure to be tuned in for more updates.
